Mel,
Too many ways to guess the noise, so I'm not sure any one answer really fits. Possibilities:
1. as mentioned, slow business down a bit when too crowded.
2. get people to get in and out faster to allow for faster turnover.
3. to make enough noise to lure people from the surrounding area to the restaurant to check it out, as RAINs tend to be in heavy traffic areas to begin with.
4. to keep the kids' attentions and make certain animatronix truly stick out so they'll want to keep coming back and maybe want to buy souvenirs of their visits.
5. to get all of us to spend a lot of time discussing the meaning of this when we get tired of discussing the meaning of life... ;)
Of course, there are many other possibilities, but I guess I've rambled enough for the moment....have a great year.
John......you have RAIN in Washington, DC, and soon there'll be one in Baltimore, but with patience I don't think it'll be long until Philly gets in there. Of course, if you're already out of the stock by that point, I doubt you'd consider it as important!!
Dennis.....was thinking of one obvious retail item that needs to be made at RAINs in time for the holidays in the future, and if anyone speaks to RAIN in the near future it should be passed along..... RAIN menorahs...eight characters..perfect fit....I was given one from Disney a while back, and it is a perfect display piece, even though never actually used with candles. Maybe the one elevated center(shamas) piece over the other eight should be a little figure of you!?
