With respect to your comments about marginal cost curves for chip and HDD companies, it may well be that I did not articulate this clearly in the Cycles article. To me, it seems almost so obvious that it doesn't need to be dwelt on; hoever, I think you are quite correct and that I should make clear this very critical aspect of the functioning of these businesses. I like your analogy to the oil business, it portrays the situation well. PX
