The current market is similar in some ways to the BEGINNING of the late 1960s ‘go-go’ market {see book by John Brooks}. If so, the analysis by Samuelson (published after the subsequent crash) showing underperformance by ‘gunslingers’ and arguing in favor of indexing will not be applicable to the current market, i.e. index funds are not the place to be. Conversely, stocks like KOPN can potentially outperform; being “a leader in augmented reality technology” can be spun into a pretty good story. However, Kopin needs to throw the market a bone, otherwise it will be assumed that, even after all these years, they are not a serious player in this space.
