"Much of the rest is homicide by a domestic partner. "

So what. If your husband is committed to murdering you, there is little or nothing you can do about it, gun or no gun. As with most murders, cops come in after the fact. Your point is meaningless, except in a completely different discussion about domestic violence.

Why do you lock steppers want to skirt the facts? Rhetorical question.
"the whole defense idea seems to be not a factor at all."

Wrong. Here are some factors that actually do matter: Millions of women in the United States have experienced rape.
  • As of 1998, an estimated 17.7 million American women had been victims of attempted or completed rape.5

If you are a woman qualified, ready, and able to defend yourself, you are nearly 100% more likely to defend yourself from.
  • Rape
  • Other sexual attacks
  • Assault
  • Murder outside of domestic violence
