Mister T, or anybody: Sybase is melting down today after admitting it will miss earnings projections bigtime. (Projections for quarter 13 cents, this AM's press release says earnings will be 2-cents, tops, and perhaps even a loss of as much as 7 cents.) A CNBC commentator suggested the companies troubles have to do with "scaleability" of its products. My question: to what extent does NCR's datawarehousing compete with Sybase? Any opinions on whether Sybase's troubles are good for NCR, or will the market just punish all companies trying to make a buck in the data biz?
