IMHO and with all due respect, only thoroughly brainwashed overeducated armchair strategists could have adopted the big Zbignian idea of pushing Ukraine into NATO. Half of that country is either ethnic Russian or native Russian speakers, and their last legitimately elected president was a Putinista. God knows Ukraine could use plenty of time out - to clean up corruption and to allow their economy to recover a little... Instead, Ukraine got pushed into a place where it doesn't belong - to become a play piece in global power games, in which they have no real interest.
