I think the "neverTrump" public conservatives have simply gone irrational. It's a very human quality. They see things out of proportion. They're not getting younger, and they're anxious to see the "right" type of Right politicians take control of the country - and they believe that Trump will discredit their movement. His vulgarity, to them, is a mortal sin; they are unable to trust an unrefined guy like Trump. Which reveals that deep down they're as elitist as any "managerial state" Democrat. They are a sorry bunch who, in effect, are breaking their butts trying to help Hillary and the Left - while remaining totally in denial.
