A huge irritant to me is the combining of two sentences which are joined by "however". I don't get how this happens. The semiliterates always know to put a period after a sentence. I assume they determine that a sentence ends when they pause for a breath. So I would think they would put a period after the first clause however that is not the case. (-sic-) I mean there's a natural pause point in there. I want that period and new sentence! When I see this lacking my mind jumps immediately to the word "dumbass". Then I think, "Sir/Madam, you low class person with the third grade education: go back immediately to your high school's top administer and complain. You were robbed of an education." My own problem is that I go forward and judge the writer's intelligence (and maybe character as well). Wow. Guess this usage really gets me up on my high horse -g-. I think maybe it has to do with the missing period dragging me across the page when I really want to pause for a mental breath. Almost a physical thing. Much different for me from just observing other grammar or spelling errors. Paul Senior
