Something to think about:

If a baby is born into a home where they speak five languages, we all know that baby would probably be able to learn all five languages fluently by the time it was five. Heck for all I know it might be able learn 10 or 15. It didn't do any studying, didn't do much of anything, just absorbed the languages which are very complex.

Now if an adult learns five languages, then we say they are a genius. But we don't say that about the baby! My point, is that (ALL MINDS!) are very complex and function in myriad ways that we don't even understand. For an adult to learn five or 10 languages, is almost an impossibility and think how hard they would need to work t learn those languages. The baby did nothing-lol!

And some brains are good for sequential logic and some are good at the simultaneous juxtaposition of things. Left brain, right brain. Which side is smarter-lol? Our society seems to think that the left brain is smarter because all the tests and exams the universities give are left brain activities. But I would argue the right brain is smarter. The left brain is a computer, the right brain is the poet that asks why am I here-lol?

.We're pretty sure now, that the unconscious mind organizes information, files it, builds software packages and interacts with the conscious mind and maybe other minds. In fact we may have many minds interacting with each other all the time. That is sort of what Ornstein alludes to in his book the evolution of consciousness, I think.

The only thing I know for sure, and science has confirmed, is that the more one thinks and feeds their brain all sorts of different knowledge, the more complex the brain becomes and its ability to function. It is like a high-speed computer that has downloaded tons and tons of important information and software packages. But without the information that big old computer is useless.

So why are schools and universities continuing to act like thy know what smart and dumb is? There are so many other variables connected to those concepts.
