The USA apparently thought it was better to back Osama bin Laden against Gorby than the reverse. Zbig's idea was to "give USSR their own Vietnam". Karma has resulted in the USA suffering another Vietnam in Afghanistan and Iraq as well, with carnage in Libya and Syria to boot. It was supposed to be USSR's Vietnam but Osama turned and bit the hand that fed him, so not only has USA got a couple of Vietnams, they also lost the Twin Towers and a piece of the Pentagon, over 3000 people and almost lost a lot more. Allan Beaven [a dinkum Kiwi] got into the cockpit of the last airliner and stopped them after he and the "Let's roll" posse made a desperate attempt to defeat the hijackers. If Clinton gets power, she's sure to ramp the conflict with Russia up to MAD levels. She has made a start in Ukraine and Syria [and Libya] and the Obama gang is lining up the Baltics. Mqurice
