| | | Like many, I stayed up till 4:30 am this morning listening to that stupid WikiTease conference live. To say that it was extremely empty, totally void of content, excessively boring, and severely anticlimactic is a gross understatement.
People are sick of Assange's WikiTease shtick, which has been pushed for over a month now. He lost most of his credibility with the dud he dropped this morning. He came across as nothing by a fraudster, a shamster, and a showman with nothing to say or sell. His shtick is expired. I hope they arrest and prosecute the a$$hole. Besides, he's not the only one with the info. Others who are legitimately interested in truth and justice, without the fame and glory, will release it in time.
Even if he releases everything tomorrow and ruins Clinton, the damage to his reputation is already sealed. He wants to be viewed as a crusader for truth and justice against the evil governments and corporations of the world, but he accomplishes the opposite by coming across a coy teaser who is far more interested in hyping himself and his brand than delivering the goods as he has teasingly promised for weeks. For weeks, it's basically been a story of "Next week! Just wait! Next week!" Screw Assange.
In fairness, from the dispassionate viewpoint of logic, the media and blogosphere have clearly amplified and grossly distorted his exact words, but it is also very easy to cite numerous examples of him, using his own words, promising to release very damaging goods on Hillary soon, where "soon" was often defined as "next week" or "well before the election". Assange really hurt his own credibility today.
