I didn't mean to imply the voters were crooked, only that they elect crooked people, as you say because they don't know that they are crooked.

The trick those politicians use, is they tell the people:" look we are like you, we believe in God, we hate gays and we love guns." Therefore vote for us. But it is all a ruse. As you know.

They are simply manipulating the populace to get the vote. In a worst-case Lee Atwood and the Republicans appealed to the racists in the South after the 1964 civil right vote by using dog whistles which said:" vote fo rus and we will not implement it anymore than we must.

What is so sad though is that the people in the South use the social safety net i.e. food stamps, welfare etc. more than any other state in the union and yet they elect people that will take those away from them if they can. The perfect example is the Republicans refusal to accept Obama care for the poor which cost the states and the poor nothing. It is a 100% federal program.

In Kentucky? the new governor even ran on that platform of repealing it and then when he was elected went forth to get rid of the Medicaid for the poor and people were surprised. And he ran on that.

Most voters aren't crooked, although they are frequently stupid and ignorant.
