I'm working with a user that has a Dell Latitude E6420 on a docking station and is connected through the docking station to an external monitor. When the laptop is closed he can use the external monitor without issue. However, once he opens the laptop to utilize both screens the laptop and monitor screen go black. He can see the cursor on the external monitor.

Is this an issue with the screen resolution? Other laptops have been connected to the docking station and can utilize both screens without issue. I'm wondering if there's a screen setting on the troubled laptop that needs to be changed.

Many thanks if anyone can help.
