There is a daily paper in Vietnam, in english, strictly for foreign consumption...where they trumpet all the party's accomplishments, and spin everything they are doing. It's pretty hilarious, I look forward to reading it every morning with my coffee, I read it to Hung, and he howls like I am reading him the Onion. Parts of that story sound suspiciously like they were lifted from the Viet News.
I remember one article where they said the Communist Party was committed to fully transitioning to a Communist Market economy within two years, and that they currently had a committee of over 3000 working to define just what that is...
No Vietnam this year, Yen's Mom is still hanging on, I don't think she's changed a bit in a year. Her skin is still beautiful, her organs organs are humming along, she's just in suspended animation. Yen's sister is coming to spell her on our birthdays so we can take a weekend at the coast.
