How nice to see you back.

Funny that the experiences of Iomega product users I know are overwhelmingly positive. I do know a small number of Jaz users in the Mac support department of a large international brokerage/investment bank who reported having some trouble with Jaz cartridges. However, these turned out to be due to SCSI driver conflicts. Something that affects SyQuest drives as well.

At that same firm, the network and PC support groups use Jaz all over the place, and so do the brokers, traders and even Senior Managing Directors. They all love their Iomega products.

I also know many people in the magazine publishing business in New York, where once again Iomega products are common and well-liked. Basically, these people take their Zip drives for granted. They just use them all the time. They buy a lot of disks. The ones who have Jaz drives have no complaints, but Jaz drives are less common.

To add to this, the Zip and Jaz drives owned by me and my wife have never given us any kind of problem.

Anyone who believes that the few hundred (at most) users in some newsgroup represent "typical" attitudes doesn't know a lot about newsgroups or a lot about people. People who are completely satisfied with their products don't need to search through the byzantine world of newsgroup threads.

BTW, have you checked the SyQuest newsgroups?
