The fact is it is to late to remove the two nominees from the ballot in many States. And early voting has already taken place. Every day that passes cutoff to register to vote takes place in more jurisdictions. To simply do a write in of another candidate would violate the constitutional rights of those who have already voted to have their vote counted.

Under the 12th Amendment it States,
""Section 1. The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude."

Also Under the 12th Amendment it States,
It also violate the process set up under the constitution as to the election of Presidents and Vice Presidents. Before they could do such a thing the constitution would have to be amended.

The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President; They shall make distinct lists of all persons voted for as President, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate. The President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the votes shall then be counted.

The person having the greatest Number of votes for President, shall be the President

There is not enough time nor the will to amend the constitution. So it appears, unless the two candidates are willing to voluntarily step aside. The US is stuck with one or the other.

Being as they both are beset with disparaging qualities. The choice is not which candidate, but rather the party considered most likely to foster economic growth and create employment for those in need of a job.
