Competitor or not, Intel has to supply Compaq with Pentiums. They are legally bound to supply product on the open market. Besides, seeing that Intel is in the motherboard, cpu, chipset, and ethernet card business, aren't they competing with just about every single one of their customers already?

This "no obligation" mentality sounds like something Andy Grove would say. You must be an Intel employee.
