shall look into spelling and its values. If viacom ownes 75% of spelling, it is possible that they could gradually pick up the balance cheaply on the open market, distress sales, if any, and squeeze the minority shareholders. Have never heard that Redstone was a philanthropist. In fact, I can't ever remember reading or hearing of him giving any money to charity. Of course, charity does begin at home, and maybe that counts. Anyway shall look at it. Just remember, Redstone is a notoriously litigious person and also very patient--wearing out his opponents. The minority shareholders look like opponents to him. With 75% he can consolidate sales and earnings with Viacom. Of course, it is possible that if Spelling is really valuable, he could sell it off if Viacom needs money.
