I don't think one can draw the same numerical conclusions as from other elections. An 8-point spread between Trump and Clinton doesn't mean the same thing as it would between other typical candidates. Having a vacant seat on the SC is a huge factor as well. Sticking my neck out a bit, I think Dems are in for a shock regarding how little Hillary helps the down ticket races.
