The "Law of the Sea" Treaty as ratified by China, the US and all other UN participants was updated as recently as 1982, which replaced the prior UN Treaties of 1958. There's nothing 1421 about it.

China is violating this treaty they signed by creating artificial islands and falsely claiming "territorial waters" around them.

Although China is objecting loudly in every manner, the US and other Naval forces will continue to exercise of free passage through the waters surrounding man-made islands.

Hillary Clinton's administration will almost certainly enforce this treaty just as strongly as Obama's administration has. Tearing-up treaties in the Hitler style has consequences if people are willing to stand up to you.

Would Trump give away the store to China and Russia as these two nation's leader clearly believe he would? It's hard to believe our military, State Department, Congress, EU or other allies would acquiesce to that - but Trump is the clear favorite of Putin and China for this reason.

China's leaders are so pissed-off they refused a boarding ramp for Air Force One, so Obama had to use the lower exit on the aircraft and they roughed-up members of the US Press. So fucking what?

When the Obama administration documented non-stop cyber-theft by China's People's Liberation Army and threatened certain retaliation, China sent their senior officials to the US to sign a law which guaranteed extradition of anyone in China who participated in cyber theft - even including PLA officers. And that cyber theft stopped abruptly! Of course both countries continue to test each others governmental networks, but that's the time-honored game. China does eventually honor commitments like the Law of the Sea - but only if there's somebody to check them when they don't.
