Well, any "forward" type calculation does have its uncertainties. As Investopedia says ..... investopedia.com "While the earnings used are just an estimate and are not as reliable as current earnings data ... " At least when one looks at what a company has actually achieved, one is then using factual numbers compared to predicted ones. As you said ... "The trend in terms of market share over the past 4-5 years has been that SIMO is expanding theirs." Needless to say, the proof of that pudding will be in the eating and that, IMO, is best seen in what their FUTURE financials display in several relevant and strategic parts of those Statements, most especially the bottom line Net Income which contributes to the Retained Income on SIMO's Balance Sheet and the enhanced value of its Net Assets.
