tomcat, I think packard bell left too bad of a taste in peoples mouth. I bet for $200 most people will not select a Compusa box over dell. the public has seen these dealer boxes come and go and they are wary of the components and integration testing. If these boxes are great stuff then why have the 5 or 6 delears started selling these boxes and then cancelled them in the 16 yrs. of the pc industry. Even Intel was unable to make and sell pcs. they cancelled their line a number of yrs. ago.it lasted about 24 months or so. Please answer why every other attempt at a dealer making boxes has failed?????? Also, at the present time when growth is 15% in 1998. major PC teir 3 players will go bankrupt so what does COMPUSA do that will let them succeed.???? answer these two questions.... the industry will hand COMPUSA their head on a platter just like they did Toshiba.
