Janice, I have not the foggiest what verb descibes the action resulting in wrought alloys and wrought iron, but it is an action of deformation under heat (and sometimes followed by quenching, annealing and secondary deformation). I thought its etymological origins might have been similar to those of the verb wring (like wringing water by the the action of twist deformation of a rag, or for that matter, wringing you hands in desperation when kicked out of SI <g>). It seems that some here think differently.
