You can be comforted by the fact soon after the election ends with a major defeat for Trump, the rest of the Republican party will join you in your condemnation that Trump was always a democrat, a RINO, etc. The problem is that the party's primary voters decide what the party represents. And for now, they have decided that Trump represents their values. This is an undeniable truth. The repair from such brand damage will be quite hard to undo. Especially among women, and a number of minorities.
