Interesting topic for some years now.

When I bought my wife her engagement ring, she didn't ask, is this real? and frankly if it wasn't, she probably would not be able to tell unless she took it to a jeweler...so really, the issue is, can you see yourself buying a "fake" diamond knowing it is indeed fake for your loved one to,save some bucks?

Something tells me it would take a generation or two for that thought process to change to were it would not be an issue...IMHO.
