Jeff: I tend to agree with you in the main thrust - the Y2K may not be the end of Western Civ.. Recently got 3 separate mailers on this (dupes) from Dr. Gary North. Many years ago - took his service...not too hot. My son is a program tester for a local (IBM based computer co.). They work with utility-type cos around the world. Their clients have no fear of Y2K!!!! they're "compliant" now! (Hard to recall now, but think Dr. G.N. was one of thoseconvinced that the "coming meltdown" in Japanese stock market (which did occur) - would crash ours like the 30's bust?!?! HNY to all Don
