How many "regime changes"?

Lets say since the USSR collapsed. That makes things simpler. Less time to consider and you don't have to consider whether or not the USSR's actions should count on the Russian side of the equation (esp, if you include attempts doing so would result in a larger total for Russia).

For the US you have Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya

Russia has lately (and probably in the pre-soviet past as well) been more focused on grabbing the territory for itself or its allies. OTOH taking it by force means the territory in question is now under a new regime.

Crimea, Donboss (may be combined with Crimea under one entry for Ukraine), Georgia/Abkhazia/South Ossetia
Moldova/Transnistria, Abkhazia/Armenia/Azerbaijan - This one is somewhat confused with evidence of Russian soldiers fighting on both sides).

The Second Chechen War could also be claimed as such an intervention on the Russian side, but it would be more dubious. The Russians were taking back control of territory that had been theirs and also it was a response to the invasion of Degestan by Islamic forces from Chechnya. Not that justifications really determine whether the intervention of belongs on the list (or I would have spent time posting them in the US section), but if some US state broke away and then later was reconquered I don't think I'd put the war(s) involved in this list.
