Well, I am a very happy woman so far this year. Nike, a company I have boycotted for years, is finally losing ground, and its products are deeply marked down and still going unsold at the discount stores where I did my holiday shopping.

And a lot of people, some of whom have enough power to try to do something about it, are beginning to think that Bill Gates should not monopolize technology and control information on the Internet. There is even a fun site which pokes fun at him--the Society for the Prevention of Gates Getting Everything. You can buy a t-shirt or a mug there! Here's the url:

galaxymall.com

And here is what I think is a very good column voicing the same concerns I have against Gates, in case anyone else is interested:

sfgate.com

I'm sure all the unbridled capitalists in this crowd still think Bill Gates is better than sliced bread, but I think he's TOAST, and I hope I'm right! The more pugnacious he and his legal become in defense of Microsoft, the more negatives he gets from the public.

Anyway, with these two companies, it's pleasing to me to see kharma finally playing out!!
