(NEWSER) – The Trump campaign is denouncing a nasty moment at a rally in Arizona Saturday in which a supporter began chanting "Jew-S-A" at reporters. (You can see video at BuzzFeed.) "That man's conduct was deplorable, and had I been there, I would have asked security to remove him immediately," campaign chief Kellyanne Conway told CNN on Sunday. "Clearly, he doesn't speak for the campaign or the candidate, and what he had to say was disgusting." Host Jake Tapper had used the word "deplorable" in his initial question, and Conway echoed it in her answer, calling to mind Hillary Clinton's use of the phrase "basket of deplorables" to describe Trump supporters.

The unidentified Trump supporter had been berating the press corps—"You're the enemy!"—when the crowd watching the rally struck up a "U-S-A" chant. He then chimed in, but changed it to "Jew-S-A" as he pointed to reporters. The campaign "strongly condemns this kind of rhetoric and behavior," said spokeswoman Hope Hicks in a statement to Politico. "It is not acceptable at our rallies or elsewhere."
