Musk gives a hint as to how new glass solar tiles would be installed at very end of conference call on solar city tesla merger .. "Snap into substructure."

I can picture parallel galvanized metal strips laid out on existing roof ,,and glass solar tiles hooking into lower row ,, and both sides for water tight and weather proof seal ... then snapping down into screwed down galvanized strips,, which also provide electrical connections ,, pos,, neg ,, ground for exit to Tesla battery.

I can picture this system could be installed faster than an asphalt shingled roof . Fitting or cutting the wired tiles or dummies would not matter as each tile would provide power through the strips independently.
