I have opinions on foreign policy. But I don't think in terms of red lines. I think in terms of the entire international stage. Your entire post talks about what we would do against China or Russia.

With all due respect, I think that is a limited vision.

We have alliances, like NATO which is considered by the top diplomats in the world as being an intelligent way to proceed. It seems that the people that know nothing about foreign policy have very simple answers. But as HL Mencken once said, for every complex problem there's a simple answer, and it is usually wrong.

If China started to engage in hegemony, we would search for alliances. It is impossible for me to predict what those would be in any sophisticated manner. I simply don't have enough information. What I do know is that we would form an alliance with Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan in dealing with south sea China problems.

With regard to Russia, we will work with NATO, which is the intelligent way to do it.

Trump thinks he is the High Plains drifter, and with the might of the United States military would just ride rough shod over the world. That is what makes him so dangerous, his insane world he sees in his mind's eye would endanger us all as it is stupid and unrealistic without great carnage and conflagration.
