Stockman,

Much better approach! It will be interesting to watch the CPU
manufacturers this year, for now I am out of all of them.
CYRIX/NSM will own the low/utility/general purpose computer end
(which is now about 45% of all domestic computer sales) and continue
to gain market share in Asia and Europe. AMD will own the mid range
up to $1200, Intel will own the mid/high range and will probably
use the DEC Alpha for the high end workstation market.

AMD is in trouble, (what's new?) and it wouldn't surprise me to
see them merge or get bought by someone with the capability to
implement the technology required to be successful.

Don't sell Cyrx/NSM short, their approach of integrating multiple
technologies onto 1 silicon chip will be fantastically successful,
and they will be able to make the chips cheaper than anyone else
and still maintain margins/profits of 50-100% and eliminate the
need for accessory hardware currently required on "standard
computers". If this wasn't so you wouldn't see AMD and INTC
scrambling to develop similar "single chip solutions" with
integrated features to compete.

Just my opinion,
BB
