No it does not help. As I pointed out, Definition 3 in Webster's says that "infer" may be used in place of the word "imply". I infer from your analysis that the language is there for your interpretation which ignores the facts as presented to you. God Save The Barnes and Noble edition of the Webster's whatchamacallit. Whether or not Lorena Bobbitt had remorse in no way casts aspersions on O.J. Simpleton. I am only inferring this....no implications are necessary. I presume in real life you are an attorney, ain't cha? Fess up, you're cornered.
