If you're going to get on me for writing about past foreign relations from the perspective of hindsight, then don't give me quotes from Sun Tzu to make your points.

Talk about hindsight...wasn't Sun Tzu about a 1000 years ago? Before they even had guns?

When I talk about decency, I'm not just talking about how you treat your enemy but how you treat your Own people too. When Chamberlain made that deal with the Germans, it was just 20 years since the British had suffered deeply in WWI. They still had vets from that war that were still suffering. He wanted to avoid that kind of carnage for the British people after knowing what it could do.

You say we should have gone after Hitler in the early 30's, and that probably would have been wise, but at the time I don't think he could have gotten any Democrats to go along with him either. It wasn't just Republicans that would have been against it.

We could argue all that stuff for hours and hours but it's the stuff that's happening NOW that matters.
