Sorry, but you and they don't own words. Homosexuals maybe want "gay" to be used, or "hero" or "rainbow" or LGBTQWERTY, but I'll use the words that work. Americans whether in general or of Negro type don't own english and we [the other 95% of humanity] are sick of the presumptuous dominance of bloody Yanks who can shove it up their jumper, bugger off, and take a flying leap. Language is for communication. It's also used for virtue-signaling, deceiving [aka lying], confusing, status rating and all sorts. But the primary function is to represent reality and ideas so others can understand.
When you write "the African American", just who is that? France has language purity laws. English is so powerful because it's a mongrel rather than a racist pure-bred. We just nab any word we like and use it. Sushi, restaurant, cafe, karaoke [which is a Japanized derivation of an english word, which is amusing - they pinched a word, changed it, and we pinched the combination], and thousands of other words.
Private enterprise, capitalism, common law, self-determination, science, habeas corpus, magna carta, democracy, Virtuous Victorian Values and the Enlightenment in general provided the economic and military foundation for the British Empire to bring Rudyard Kipling and all that great stuff to the benighted barbarian and cannibal hordes around the world. So it's true that english wasn't doing the heavy lifting, but it helped. Germans, French, Italians and others also did science and took part in the Enlightenment but England delivered the best bundle.
The English Americans took those foundations and turbocharged them with We the People ideas and the USA constitution, having the good sense to import Ashkenazi Jews en masse and a lot more besides. Thank goodness for humanity that Adolf's murderous anti-Jew mania was killed. Now though, we have barbarous Moslems wanting a re-enactment. The USA is holding the line, though not if Hillary Clinton and Huma the jihadist Kim Philby win the election. It's Hillarious that women are voting for Hillary, Huma and the Harpy hyenas [F-bomb Nuland, Susan Rice, Samantha Powers, Lois Lerner, Cheryl Mills, Loretta Lynch Mob, et al] - when Islamic Jihad and sharia rule the USA, women will be chattels again.
Seriously, if you know any Negroes, tell them to vote for Donald. Look what has happened to Negroes in the USA over the last half century under Democratic party ideology and Republicans didn't roll back the clock - keeping whatever the Democrats decided. How is unemployment and poverty among the poorly educated going in the USA? Poorly-educated is a better description of the problem than is skin colour aka "black" or whichever word you prefer. The poor education might be a problem of genes, family, diet or opportunity for a particular individual, so it's not just a matter of providing a class room and teacher.
