The answers you have provided are that the industry has clinical and scientific integrity, and the trials are being sponsored by NIH, FDA, Aids Clinical Trials Group, and the pharmaceutical companies themselves.
It is unfortunate that so many SI participants are accustomed to the penny-stock, management-by-press-release mentality. It is painful to see Agouron, Roche, Merck et.al. cast in the light of the usual SI fodder of SALV, Paracelsian, SOLVEX and AKSEF, and so on. The former are serious companies, treating serious illness, and they report their findings with scientific rigor.
