Multimedia Games sees new Megamania records
"TULSA, Okla., Jan 2 (Reuters) - Multimedia Games Inc, whose offices were searched by federal officials on New
Year's Eve for evidence relating to the company's MegaMania bingo game, said Friday that it expects to set new
records of play for MegaMania over the next few days.
Revenues from its MegaMania game, which has the approval of the National Indian Gaming Commission, were up
approximately five percent over same day sales of the previous two weeks, Multimedia Games said.
''We find this particularly impressive despite a 12-hour disruption in play, and a small number of halls not operating the
game due to actions taken by one U.S. Attorney in his district of Northern Oklahoma,'' the company said, noting that
over 90 percent of the games are still operational.
The search resulted in confiscation of MegaMania player stations at two bingo halls operated by the Cherokee Nation
and one operated by the Senaca Cayuga tribe, according to the U.S. Attorney. The company's other bingo operations
were not affected.
Suspension of operations at the three halls will have little material adverse impact on the company's revenues and
earnings, it said in a statement."
