Re: Business standard

Most everyone agrees that sales of removables are expected to grow at tremendous rates over the next few years. As they become increasingly common in the business world, and because of the many choices that will be available, IT/MIS managers will standardize. In many companies, (like my own) the Zip is already the standard.

I suspect that for most companies, software installation and maintenance are important factors that impact product choice. The ability to purchase the drive preinstalled in the box also enters into the decision. Compatibility of course plays a major role.

While it's probably a bit early to say the Zip is "the standard", I think it's safe to say that it is a standard with many companies today and will certainly be one with many more before Sony or anyone else has chance to make an impact.

My point is: Most companies need to have PC standards. Today, this gives Iomega a big leg up.
