Hi CT,

I'm genuinely flattered with the several suggestions of beginning a pitchfork thread, but I'm reluctant to start a pitchfork thread because I believe I would be setting myself up as some kind of self annointed market guru and I just don't see myself that way. I prefer a more casual style of participating along with others on this thread where charts are already available and with Chris and Bruce displaying their charts as they go.

I'm happy to explain what I know about this method, but I'm uncomfortable with the idea of a guru thread. Also, I think discussion of the pitchfork fits in comfortably right here, until I get booted out of here.

BTW, you make a very excellent point about technical analysis. With the prevalent use of computers, the older style of TA has somehow been ignored. The pitchfork is one of the oldest methods around and has almost been lost to modern graphics and other 'more sophistocated' devices. I use the pitchfork as my main indicator and find it to be extremely rewarding over the past 20 years. Also, I never use computer graphics, I just eyeball the chart, it works for me.
