That is correct. All the debunked anti-Clinton smears could not compete with America's immigrant boogeyman fears and general laziness in critical thinking. Trump and the GOP promoted them as if they were not already disproved, It is amazing that she is seen as the establishment; in light of the obvious connection between the GOP and the concentrated corporate oligopolies as well as attacks on women's healthcare, the NRA and science deniers. Sanders would have been smoked worse in these states, as a commie homosexualist anti-military "Jew" who would regulate and tax, and end "freedom" of God's natural order and the free marketplace. Or they would have found his swiftboat, or his Howard Dean scream. It also comes down to the massive money spent by PACs in the battleground states, IMHO. And people's hypnosis opening them up to the old debunked Clinton smears.
