Looks as though Microsoft is being very non-committal about this. Read on:

Microsoft Corp. is reported planning to announce it's making a $1 billion investment in cable-giant
TeleCommunications Inc. Details are set to be revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next
week, according to Bloomberg news. Reports the two companies' were having discussions surfaced several
weeks ago, with Intel also suggested as a partner in the development of the next-generation cable boxes which
could deliver cable television, the Internet, and other data services. TCI would use the Microsoft investment to
upgrade its network with the new boxes, the Bloomberg report said. A spokesman for Microsoft refused
comment on the story, saying, "This sounds very much like a rumor."
