I agree that Bernie would likely not have won the election either. African Americans would not have supported him in required numbers and Trump would have campaigned against him for being being a Socialist.

I believe Hillary would have been a decent President but she is not a very good politician. Bill Clinton was one of the finest politicians of the 20th century and one of the worst Presidents, being responsible for two of the worst domestic policy decisions of the 20th Century, implementation of NAFTA and the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act.

I originally supported Elizabeth Warren for President and then Bernie. I don't know that Elizabeth Warren would have won either.

Many Democrats will blame the loss on the Republicans for voter suppression, the FBI fiasco, etc. I reject those notions. As Democrats we know that the Republicans are evil and will do horrible things to win. I lay blame on Democratic leadership hubris. Having elected Obama, a great historical achievement, the leadership decided to stack the deck to discourage other candidates from challenging Hillary as the party nominee. Only crazy Bernie wouldn't be deterred from running. Elizabeth Warren wisely chose the sidelines.

At the end of the day the DNC chose to bring a knife to a gun fight. While I respect both of the Clintons for their years of public service, I sincerely hope that they become politically invisible going forward so a new generation of leaders can emerge within the party.
