vepoc- To add to your phobias, you might note that one of the long-standing bulls in the US market, Ralph Accompura (sp?) of Prudential Securities, has turned bearish in recent months. Ralph is perhaps the most celebrated of the American technical analysts. Last night on the popular US tele program Wall Street Week he reiterated his opinion that the US market will suffer a bear market around the middle of '98. I'm not sure what his rationale is. He predicted a 1998 high on the DOW of 8600, a low of 6000 (I think) and a close of 7300, making him the most bearish of four guests on hte show last night.
I would be interested in your perspective on the European market this year, although the BAY thread is probably not the place to air such views. If there is another thread where you post such info, I'd be interested in knowing.
Regards,
Larry
P.S. You can buy a transcript of WSW's show last night by sending $6.00 to "Year End Transcripts, Wall Street Week With Louis Rukeyser, Owings Mills, MD 21117, USA". Maybe send another 75 cents for international postage. |
