Hi, Holly!!! Sorry so much time has passed since you posted to me. I was trying to go back and answer all of them, but yours about whether it is true that all cars prior to 1973 will no longer be smog-checked somehow eluded me.
In any event, I don't know if that is true, but I would personally be surprised if it were, because my understanding is that with Smog Check II in California being implemented sometime in the near future, the state is trying to get all the old cars that aren't RARE collectors' items off the road as soon as possible. So it doesn't seem logical. Please let me know if you hear anything more about this issue.
On the other hand, the air in Los Angeles is getting cleaner!!! I guess all those smog regulations that the arch conservatives rail against actually might work after all!! (OR, Freddy turned in his old roadster for a more modern model, and the skies miraculously cleared.)
Anyway, here's the article in case you or anyone else would like to read it:

Incidentally, Happy New Year, Holly!!! What have you been up to, and do you have any interesting resolutions? |
