Comparisons of Apple vs non Apple product threads can be as derisive as political threads. It appears you have the Apple fans vs the non Apple fans and some on both sides are passionate. That's my experience at least. I like to tinker with and build things and understand how they're assembled and work. I also like to buy and use things that have universal vs proprietary peripherals. I have two sons, one is like me, the other one does not have any interest in how things work, he just wants them to work, reliably. He's obviously willing to pay a premium for that. My limited experience with Apple products is installing an SSD in my other sons Macbook Pro and reinstalling the OS Snow Leopard. This was a few years ago. He's had a couple of other Macs since then and a few iPhone's and he's a satisfied customer. My opinion of Apple products is they are well made, reliable and cost about 3 to 6 times what a similar alternative product does. I am not an Apple customer, but know many people who are.
