The Dems will be extremely unlikely to retake control of the senate in 2018. I forget the balance but the ratio of seats up for reelection strongly favors the Reps. And, given the gerrymandering of House seats, I don't see any chance of gaining control by the Dems until the next census and then only if they control more state capitals. Odds are against that.
