I have about 6 large heads of cabbage ready for harvest and some more coming. Tonight is 1st freeze, that means the cool weather greens will taste even better.

Instead of giving some of it away intact, bought a dozen 2 Q Ball jars, canning salt and some caraway seeds to make cole slaw. It will be a first. Got a recipe on-line. Ball book of canning has a couple too.

The slaw should be well fermented and ready in time for Christmas.

Also growing some brussel sprouts again...started them out a little late and the stems are still little nubs. The plants are beautiful though and we have been eating the large lower leaves in veggie stir fries... Delicious and better than cabbage leaves. They should be cut off regularly anyway.

Beet seeds didn't sprout too well, but do have some beets coming....If we don't eat all the beet greens first.

Been eating Asian Persimmons for over a month. Finished them yesterday. Delish.

Both kinds of Kale are still prolific. wife now makes us a daily morning drink from it and a few other fruit and vegetable and nut ingredients and some yogurt.
