Pollsters want to be accurate, otherwise no one will use them in the future. They sell themselves, and their accuracy.

I think what it is, is that polling methods used in the past, that have been proven (in the past) statistically, no longer work.

Believe it or not, many polls still depend on people with land lines! Many other polls used 'likely voters', which used to work, until Trump brought out so many who have never voted, or haven't voted in years.
