Larry, agree 70% with your assessment of radica's games mostly appealing to men/boys. My daughter's description of the deep sea fishing game we gave her was "awesome". My personal observation are that girls are more attracted to toys/games that promote nurturing and I notice that the most popular toys among my daughter and her friends are:
1. Beanie babies
2. Barbies
3. Electronic pets such as Tomagatshi and the wave of knock-offs.

Personally I think a combination of 1 and 3 would be a great hit - an electronic game packaged in the form of a holdable small beanbag like stuffed animal. The electronics could provide the character to the animal along with care (feeding/etc). Such a device would either be a flop (30% chance) or a mega-hit (70% chance). For example, there are currently over 100 different versions of Beanie Babies and its not uncommon for children to either buy or recieve one of them each month.
