Yes... this news from US WEST is great for WSTL and PAIR. Pairgain is also in the trials 'I believe' with HDSL, but it didn't move much today. But thats not my point.... WSTL looks to be positioned quite nicely in many of the trials for 1997 trials/deployments. I don't see any other xDSL company positioned as well as WSTL in providing a two modem ADSL solution in the States and Canada "FOR 1997". Are other companies like AMTX.. ORTCF ... Pulsecom.. Pairgain... Alcatel... better positioned over-seas???? My general understanding is they are. It's been almost a year for me, and XDSL is finally starting to see the light of day......

The WSTL and MOT agreement is very very big in my own mind. If it wasn't for this agreement i would still be on the side-lines with WSTL. I 'hear/understand' that not all DMT solutions talk seamlessly with each other. That is if I have a ADI/AWRE "DMT modem" in the CO and I get an AMTX/WSTL "DMT modem" for my house ... Will they talk???? I've conclued that WSTL wanted to go with the leader in DMT and thats the AMTX/MOT chipset. Maybe someone else can talk more about different DMT modems talking to each other??? Well until later....
